Antique Spool Holder

I had planned to use this auction find - an antique spool holder - beside my sewing machine to store my go-to thread, but today's long spools wouldn't fit. So, I dressed my holder up in vintage wooden spools and a pincushion made from some vintage patchwork squares. Looks awesome setting on my antique Singer treadle sewing machine. Love it even more now!

    I have to admit, Id have fallen for the gadget but would mhave had no idea what it was for!
    It looks superb with the old spools though, so I figure you were Fated to find it lol
